SHINE MINISTRIES
Let your light so shine before
men...." Matt. 5:16
  CHRISTIAN'S CALLING

A charge to keep I have,
A God to glorify,
A never-dying soul to save,
And fit it for the sky.

To serve the present age,
My calling to fulfill:
O may it all my powers engage
To do my Master’s will!

Spring To Another Level

Do you get frustrated with life to the point of doing things your own way to get it done? 1 Corinthians 2:8 says “… nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him”. Isaiah 64:4 says it as “prepared for those who wait for Him”

In this society, we want everything now; we would have it yesterday if we could. We are taught to strive to be the best but somewhere along the line we are not told we need to work for it.

Matthew 6:33 says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God…” ever noticed there is a ‘But’ at the beginning of that verse? I once heard a minister say “Put your but it the right place”. The ending of your statements have to declare the positive. How does it sound when someone says “I can’t wait to get to heaven but earth is miserable”? Now said in a positive way “Earth is miserable but I can’t wait to get to heaven”.

We need to declare what we believe but believe what God has in store for us. You confess with your mouth what you believe in your heart.

“Believe that the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former” Haggai 2:9. this encourages us to keep working towards the latter, the time of prize giving, the heavenly goal. What do you think about when you look at the way the world is in its current state? We, the youth, need to step up our game, we need to shine in all areas of life. Do people who regularly stand with you at the bus stop know you have been washed in the blood? Do they know the saving grace Jesus brought when he was crucified, buried and rose again? If not, why? What are you waiting for?

Even though the weather is not exhibiting the times and seasons of the year, God is still God and the way he has planned things is the way it will happen. So much so that Jesus had a conversation before he was crucified saying “it is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.” Acts 1:7. He went on to tell the disciples “But you shall receive the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.” There comes the ‘but’ word again. I have learnt that every time there is a verse containing ‘but’, it shows there is more to come, more I should look forward to. Jesus talks about the Holy Spirit coming upon the disciples but in scripture the prophet Joel had already prophesied bout the Spirit being given and it is recorded in Acts 2:17 “and it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, your sons your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall, your old men shall dream dreams.”

This passage fills me with hope, hope that if we say we are living in the last days, it is time we start prophesying and our men pray for their visions and dreams. Now let’s look back at the hope that Matthew 6 has for us after the ‘but’ word. Verse 34 says “therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it’s own things, sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

So I ask again, do you get frustrated with life to the point of doing things your own way to get it done? Slow down because “for everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) don’t let the worries of this world get you down because you have a Provider who will support all your needs.

All you need to do is believe in His promises to you. When you next go to say something to someone or even describe your situation, make a positive prophesy and as you do it, believe in it. Think about it; God spoke the whole world into existence, and with him Spirit in you, what can’t you do?

Don’t get caught in a position of envying those who succeed by evil means because they will not succeed forever. Job 5:8-11 sums it all up.
